Out of nowhere, Nintendo has just made a vast number of fans of the Xenoblade Chronicles series very happy by announcing that Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition will be launching for the Nintendo Switch on March 20, 2025.
Yes, this is finally happening!
The updated version of Xenoblade Chronicles X, originally released on the Wii U in 2015, will feature enhanced visuals and new story content, according to Nintendo. While they’ve teased additional updates, Nintendo hasn’t revealed all the details just yet.
It’s exciting to see this remarkable RPG finally getting a remaster, especially as fans—including many here at The Outerhaven—have been eagerly requesting it. Personally, I missed out on Chronicles X the first time, so the announcement of this Definitive Edition is a perfect chance to make up for it.
I’m also curious whether Nintendo will offer a collector’s edition for Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition, given that the original game came with an artbook. Regardless, this is yet another reason to hold onto your Nintendo Switch, especially if you’re considering trading it for a future console refresh.
