PlayStation 5 owners will get to stay in the town of Silent Hill for one year all by themselves. That is to say, the upcoming Silent Hill 2 Remake will have exclusivity on the console until October 2025.
It appears the exclusivity will also include PC, since the horror game is set to release on Steam this fall. Presumably, those barred entry to the spooky town for a year include Xbox and potentially the Nintendo Switch. The game seems ideal for the Xbox Series X/S down the road. Meanwhile, the current Switch may not be able to hand the game. However, Silent Hill 2 Remake could prove a prime candidate for the rumored Switch 2.
The PlayStation 5 and PC exclusivity news comes from the newest Silent Hill 2 Remake trailer. Short and sweet, the trailer showcases the PlayStation 5 immersion of the game, especially through controller feedback. It also showcases a glorious look at the town of Silent Hill and its eerie locales.
Previously, 2BRO streaming showcased the first hour and change of the upcoming game. Developed by Bloober Team and published by Konami, Silent Hill 2 Remake appears to stay mostly true to the spirit of the original. Without spoiling anything, it appears that new puzzles will feature prominently, as well as reimagined combat.
Find out for yourself when Silent Hill 2 Remake arrives on PlayStation 5 and PC on October 8th, 2024. The psychological horror game will then arrive on other formats, likely Xbox Series X/S, on October 8th, 2025.
