SNK dropped a lot of information and a trailer for the upcoming Fatal Fury: City of The Wolves game today at Gamescom 2024. After making us wait for so long, the follow-up to Garou: Mark of the Wolves has a definitive date.
The release date for Fatal Fury: City Of The Wolves is now April 24th, 2025. From the sounds of it, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will be making some majors during its’ release, such as Evo Japan 2025, with this date. The game will have crossplay and be featured along with rollback netcode on launch.
17 Characters will be joining the King of Fighters Maximum Meyhem tournament this time around. 5 more characters will be joining via the first Season Pass. With 10 revealed so far, including Mai Shiranui who was revealed today, 7 more fighters are still in the wind.
The Jukebox, which has been added to modern SNK games such as King of Fighters XV, will have music from both Fatal Fury and Art of Fighting games. It seems as though nothing will be out of reach as Fatal Fury: First Contact – a Neo Geo Pocket Color game, will also have tracks to use. The first 3D Fighting Game for the series, Fatal Fury: Wild Ambition, is also seen.
There is going to be a new mode, in City of the Wolves, called Episodes of South Town. Characters get to equip skills and customizations to attempt to take on Southtown’s finest in this RPG. An update is required to play Episodes of South Town. From the look of this, it’s SNK’s answer to Street Fighter Alpha 3’s / 6’s World Tour mode. Rock seems to be fighting random characters on the map in the trailer. To clear up any confusion, Second South has been labeled on the map. Southtown has clearly evolved over the years.
There seems to be a Minigames section, but nothing has been revealed as of yet.
Preordering the game can net not only an April 21st Early Access pass (digital only) but also Terry Bogard’s original costume (digital and physical). The Special Edition will include the 1st Season Pass at the price of $59.99.
