At their industry panel at San Diego Comic-Con, VIZ Media announced that Shu Sakuratani’s Rooster Fighter manga has received a television anime adaptation!
The series broadcast partner will be Adult Swim, with additional streaming partners to be announced.
The agreement establishes VIZ Media as the representative for worldwide streaming, TV, and EST, as well as Home Video (HV) and Merchandising outside of Japan. Meanwhile, HERO’s INC. will manage EST, plus Home Video (HV) and Merchandising within Japan.
Guaranteed to elicit deeper laughs than any upcoming comedy anime, “Rooster Fighter” is bizarre, absurd, and proudly boundary-blurring. Keiji, is the cock-abouttown with superhuman strength who defends the world from giant monsters called “Demons.” Filled with hyperbolic scenes of high action and comedy, this is one mother-clucker who delivers a showstopper.
VIZ describes the series as follows:
Keiji is more than just an ordinary rooster—he’s humanity’s greatest defender! His opponents may be ten stories tall, but nothing is bigger than his stout heart and his fearsome battle cry—Kokekokko!
