Arc System Works released two pieces of information from the Eighting developed HUNTERxHUNTER NENxIMPACT game. The 3 on 3 tag fighting game now has an intro which will give us a rough idea as to who will be joining in the base release. From the look of things, 12 characters can be seen at this point of the 16 characters roster that will be at launch.
Meruem’s trailer was also released. The trailer showcased some of his combo potential as well as his chop super. Meruem’s vibe definitely brings out the Dragon Ball Z Cell feel. His toolkit consists of even using his tail for launchers and air tackling. In the panels, some of the gameplay with Meruem in this build has also been shown. Youtuber Xuses was able to get an interview, with an Eighting representative, with some gameplay. There already have been some comparisons to the Marvel Vs Capcom 3 titles since Eighting has worked on both games, but it seems as though it is a bit more on the level of gameplay here.
The major reveal is that the auto-combo system can be changed on and off on the fly. The flexibility, over locking into one style, is a different approach compared to other modern fighters i.e. Street Fighter VI’s Modern style.
Diaphone Takes The Evo 2024 Hunter X Hunter Title
Meanwhile, FGC Player Diaphone took the Exhibition title for HUNTERxHUNTER: NENxImpact against Supernoon in the finals with 2-0. Both combatants went into Overgear before Diaphone’s Hisoka got the final blow in. 8 players were allowed to participate. As to who was available in this build is to be determined. It’s reported that the 8 players only clocked a few hours on the game itself before the exhibition began. Achieving this high level playing with an early build is pretty good with the timing given. This makes 2025’s Evo, with HUNTERxHUNTER all the more anticipated to watch.
Congratulations to @Diaphone_ for winning the HUNTERxHUNTER NENxIMPACT Exhibition in the Evo Showcase! #Evo2024 pic.twitter.com/s4MkG5mCJV
