During yesterday’s Path of Exile Livestream, “GGG Live,” developer of Path of Exile, Grinding Gear Games, unveiled details for Path of Exile’s 3.25 update, Settlers of Kalguur. The July expansion introduces the Settlers of Kalguur Challenge League, balance improvements including two Ascendancy Class changes, Endgame improvements, further additions to the Campaign, and several quality-of-life updates, for PC and console players. Path of Exile: Settlers of Kalguur will launch on July 26th at 1 PM PDT / 4 PM EDT.
In the newly introduced Settlers of Kalguur Challenge League, players will assist Kalguuran pioneers in building the town of Kingsmarch and setting up trade routes between Wraeclast and their homeland. The gameplay focuses on mining rare resources, hiring and safeguarding skilled workers to construct and protect the town, and developing a harbor to manage trading operations. Once the town is built and trade is established, players can engage in buying and selling currency and other stackable items in the Currency Trade Market, as well as crafting and recombining powerful weapons and items on the Runesmithing Table.
Ascendancy classes are getting an update with the introduction of the new Warden class and a rework of the Gladiator. The Warden will replace the Raider class, focusing on elemental attacks, damage mitigation, and a new specialization in Tinctures, which can now be found throughout the land. The Gladiator will retain its powerful Bleeding and Block skills while gaining newly designed abilities, including the option to invest in Retaliation Skills. These new skills enable players to unleash devastating damage upon meeting specific combat conditions.
Settlers of Kalguur introduces significant balance adjustments, including drastic changes to Melee Skills, Block, Rage, Warcries, Banners, Bleed, and Impale. New Base Types and enhanced Modifiers on Endgame Items, along with improved Critical Strike Chances on Weapons, are also part of the update. Endgame content has been revamped with changes to many Scarabs, a 6th Map Device Slot, new encounters in Tier 16 and Tier 17 Maps, and updates to Blight and Ritual. Additionally, new Chisel types are being introduced, and there will be a substantial increase in the drop rate of Valdo’s Puzzle Boxes.
Path of Exile players on consoles will be pleased to learn that the game now fully utilizes PS5 and Xbox Series hardware, resulting in significantly reduced load times and texture pop-in. Overall visual fidelity has been enhanced with the highest available resolution textures and water effects, a new upscaling algorithm for crisper dynamic resolution, and an additional anti-aliasing pass.
