The timeline of Batman: Caped Crusader is fascinating and curious, to say the least. It was a show that was created by legends of the industry, including Bruce Timm, J.J. Abrams, and Matt Reeves, and was meant to be on Max. However, WBD passed on it (for no clear reason) and so Amazon Prime Video picked it up. Two seasons are already ordered for the show, and yet it took a while just to get to this point where Season 1 is just over a month away. Another curious element is that we’re JUST seeing the first trailer for the show, as it dropped today.
As you can see below, Batman: Caped Crusader pays homage to a more old-school look and vibe for Gotham while also playing with the looks and backstories of certain characters that fans know and love. Many villains are shown or teased in the trailer, showing that The Batman’s work won’t be done anytime soon. The entire first season will drop on Amazon Prime video on August 1st.
