By Josh PiedraMay 29, 2024
Studio Ghibli

It was previously announced that Studio Ghibli would be celebrating their extensive library of works with a commemorative artbook; however, no English version has been announced until now.

Studio Ghibli: Architecture in Animation will be releasing on the Crunchyroll store and will contain hundreds of pieces of exclusive, behind-the-scenes artwork for many of their films which include Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, and many others.

The exclusive art will come in the form of rough sketches, backgrounds, and concept artwork. It will also detail the expansive process of each piece and their respective locations in the film.

Hayao Miyazaki and Terunobu Fujimori will also offer commentary throughout the books. In addition, various Ghibli artists and art directors offer their thoughts.

The book is slated for an October 22 release and will set you back $35. You can find the book either on the Crunchyroll store or on Amazon.
