After sharing teasers online for a while, Xbox posted an official reveal for the next Call of Duty game. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 received a new live-action trailer, titled “The Truth Lies”, posted on social media, along with some details that will shock many people eagerly anticipating news about the latest game from Activision.
Via the Xbox Blog post, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available on Xbox Game Pass on Day 1. This news comes as a surprise to many who had been speculating on whether Microsoft would put the game onto Game Pass at all or make it a general purchase on release. But with the reveal now, Call of Duty players have more options to choose how they can jump into the next game on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and PC.
At the same time, the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase on June 6th will be followed up by a presentation focused on Black Ops 6. Microsoft promised a first look at official Black Ops 6 gameplay and to discuss more about what fans can expect. No word on whether this would include multiplayer gameplay or solely focus on the campaign.
Release information, multiple editions available for the game, story details, or any other important details are scarce at the moment. But the upcoming presentation during Summer Game Fest following the Xbox Showcase may reveal everything. But for now, the biggest news to come out of this isn’t the announcement of the next Call of Duty game but the revelation that Microsoft is actually willing to put new Call of Duty games on their Game Pass service. How this may impact things for Xbox moving forward is anyone’s guess.
