Persona News Recap: Unleash the Persona Q-ness!

Did You Miss Me?

(Many thanks to Kieth for taking care of the Persona side while I was gone for NYCC 14. But now that I’m back, its time to give my side on the news! If you want to check his version, click here. Now back to our regular scheduled programing.)

Now that Persona 4 Arena Ultimax has been released, it is now full attention for Persona Q Shadow of the Labyrinth. Recently, ATLUS released trailers showing the Persona 3 side of the story. We also saw more character videos, namely Junpei Iori, Aigis, Ken Amada, and Naoto Shirogane. We also saw the two new characters of the story, Zen and Rei.

Persona 3 Side

The biggest thing to to hear at the start is that Bryce Papenbrook is taking over the role of Theodore. You would recognize him recently as Eren Jaeger from Attack on Titan and Kirito from Sword Art Online. Previously, Travis Willingham voiced Theodore in Persona 3 Portable. Gotta say, I’m gonna miss him. Travis was very suave in his delivery and it had the charm that a Velvet Attendant should have. There’s too little of Bryce delivery to pass judgement here, so I’ll hold off my opinions till he gets his own video. And also, Teddie is a confirmed Masochist.

Junpei Iori

Vic Mignona, I’ll always love you as Junpei. You da man!

Aigis

Nothing needs to be said about Karen Strassman delivery. But damn chibi Aigis is cute.

Ken Amada

I had to do double check at my notes and my ears for this one. Instead of Mona Marshall, who kept the role for Ken in Ultimax.  Cindy Robinson is apparently the one to voice Ken in Persona Q. In case you have forgotten, she does Labrys in Arena and Ultimax, and it shows in the video. You can hear Labrys in the delivery and it is strange why Mona didn’t continue to reprise her role to Persona Q. Regardless, it’s good to hear more of Robinson.

 Naoto Shirogane

Valerie Arem is continuing with the role of Naoto. Nice to know she is a robot nut. Also glad that she is still cute as ever.

Rei

A feels trailer here. Her memories were stolen with Zen’s and that is the main focus of this trailer. We also know that she is quite the glutton. How much food can she eat?! Ashly Burch voices her and the delivery was so great it nearly made me cry.  Pack some tissues.

Zen

Along with Rei, Zen also had his memories stolen. Carrying dual crossbows with him, he swears to protect Rei and to get out of the labyrinth. With that spike choker on him, it makes you think that he’s a guard dog for Rei. Keith Silverstein voices him.

You can find the rest of the character videos here on The Outerhaven.

Persona Q Shadow of the Labyrinth will be released on November 25,2014 for Nintendo 3DS.
