Whether or not you liked the first Rebel Moon film (read my review) when it dropped in December on Netflix, part two of the saga is coming in April. But that’s not the only thing the fanbase is looking forward to. When Zack Snyder revealed the new sci-fi universe, he stated that he was going to have PG-13 versions and two “director cut” R-rated versions. While the second film we’ll see in April is the PG-13 versions, the directors cuts won’t arrive until later in 2024. However, Snyder commented in an interview with I Minutemen that there would be a small twist with that.
Specifically, he noted that the director’s cuts would drop at the same time! That way, viewers can see the “uncut versions” together and see how things go in their “true forms:”
“We don’t have a date yet, but I think it’s going to be, you know, in the summer. “I think it’s interesting because you’ll get to see, you know, they reach like about an hour longer than the original, other than the PG-13. So it would be nice to see the six hours together.”
It’ll be curious to see how the new versions of Rebel Moon do when they are released.
