Now that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is released in Japan, it is time for the collaborations to continue. There were many characters to choose from to advertise this. And what could leave a bigger impact on the viewer than having the One Winged Angel Sephiroth haunting Cloud to have some Donbei Udon?
In the 30-second ad, you can see Sephiroth dressed up as a Donbei Fox, with foxtail and ears, offering and hounding Cloud Strife to partake in a bowl. Reframing moments from the original game and Rebirth in which Fox Sephiroth offers him Donbei Udon. To finally having Cloud give in and eat a bowl, much to Sephiroth’s satisfaction.
Fun Fact: The Nissin PR team was torn on who to choose to advertise the Kitsune Udon. It was up in the air with Tifa, Aerith, or Yuffie to represent. Yes, we could’ve got a fox version of one of them. In the end, it was chosen to have Sephiroth to don the ears and tail. Also, the voice actor for Sephiroth, Morikawa Toshiyuki shared that the first thing he recorded in 2024 was this Donbei Fox Sephiroth udon commercial.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is out now in Japan and will be released on February 29th for the West for PS5. A demo is available now to download that includes the beginning of the game and an exploration section of Junon.
