Last week might not have “gone as planned” for us Nintendo fans via the Partner Showcase that dropped. It didn’t highlight any exclusive titles and merely showcased multiplatform games that were coming between now and June. However, that didn’t mean there weren’t any surprises. One of the biggest surprises was that of Epic Mickey: Rebrushed, a remake of the cult classic Wii title by Warren Spector and his team at Juncture Point. The franchise only had two games, but it made enough of an impact to get a full-on remake in 2024.
On LinkedIn, Warren Spector himself noted that he would be up for a third title and has an idea for it, but he’s currently “busy at the moment:”
“I’d love to do Epic Mickey 3 but I have a day job that would make that impossible,” Spector said”I actually have a high-level idea for what I’d do in a tri-quel. Don’t worry what I’m working on is pretty darn cool and OtherSide is looking to hire for that project and one other we’re working on.”
Now, while that might mean we don’t get it now, that doesn’t mean he can’t make it once his current project is completed. If the Rebrushed remake does well enough, anything is possible.
