S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl now has a release date for the Xbox Series X|S, PC, and it will be released on September 5, 2024. The release date was revealed via a short video featuring several in-game characters surrounding a campfire, enjoying some R&R, right before the release date appears.
This title had quite the development hell. Despite being in development for years, it has faced several delays, ranging from being initially canceled to issues with the title’s development and the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, where most of the games’ developers reside. As a recent Twitter post mentioned, this delay is due to GSC, the developer, wanting to address several ” technical imperfections.”

The title appeared at Gamescom 2023, and those who had a chance to play the game were excited, with many stating that the prior S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game DNS was immediately present.
While initially concerned about an Xbox exclusive, it was revealed via documents from the Epic Games vs. Apple court case documents that the game will see a 3-month timed exclusive. So, this will likely see a release on other platforms, such as the PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5.
