Project L, the codename for the upcoming fighting game based on Riot Game’s MOBA, League of Legends, just received 8 minutes of gameplay footage. This gameplay footage was released as part of the massive esports event, League of Legends Worlds 2023, currently taking place in Korea and will run through November 16-19, 2023.
The last time anyone could check out Project L was during EVO 2023. However, as part of Worlds 2023, anyone who attends can get their hands on a playable build with the characters Ahri, Yasuo, Ekko, and Darius.
So far, the fighter does seem to be very accessible and easy enough to jump into, which would make sense as it was based on the Cannon Brothers fighter that was designed to allow players to jump in and have fun instead of having to do a bazillion things. That game was Rising Thunder, which has since been canceled once Riot Games acquired Radiant Entertainment. Since then, Tom and Tony Cannon announced they would be working on a new fighter, which was revealed to be Project L.
If you haven’t heard about Project L, Riot Games has been releasing videos occasionally, including this new one that explains how to play the game. Similar to Capcom’s Marvel VS series, Project L will have players fighting against each other in a two vs. two format, either solo or with a friend/another player handling the other character on your team.
Currently, Project L doesn’t have an official name, nor does it have a release window. We don’t even know what platforms the game will be released on.
