Whether you like them or not, The Game Awards are less than a month away from release. As with every year, the question was who the “committee” would nominate for “Game of the Year.” Traditionally, some “usual suspects” pop up, but there are often “unique” or even “controversial’ picks that not only make it into the final six but sometimes win. With a certain title “looming” over the proceedings, many wondered if the show would cave and put it in there despite having NUMEROUS other candidates.
Thankfully, they didn’t, as The Game Awards revealed their top six games of the year, and they are ones that fans will happily get behind:

At the beginning of the year, Tears of the Kingdom would’ve been the odds-on favorite to win. But after the impressive shows of Alan Wake 2, Baldur’s Gate 3, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and even Super Mario Bros Wonder, things aren’t as clear cut. And Resident Evil 4’s remake made it in for a reason, too. We’ll find out on December 7th who comes out on top!
