Remnant 2: The Awakened King – Should you kill Nimue Guide

By Keith MitchellNovember 14, 2023
Remnant 2 The Awakened King - Should you kill Nimue

During the Remnant 2: The Awakened King DLC, you’ll be sent by the One True King to kill Nimue, the Goddess who had helped you during your visit to Losnam during Remnant 2. Once you make it to Nimue, she will try to sway you not to kill her, instead of killing The Awakened King / One True King.

Of course, given that you are presented with options, you’re likely wondering what to do. So, don’t worry, as I’ve gone through The Awakened King DLC twice now, and I’ll break down what happens if you choose either option.

Option One: Kill Nimue

Once you make it to Nimue, she will try to sway you not to kill her. Of course, you can’t be swayed, and an order is an order, and thus you are committed to killing her. In doing so, she’ll say her goodbyes, and you do the deed. However, in doing so, you will receive the Broken Heart relic.  The flavor text reads, “Innate 50% use Speed Bonus. On use, sets current health to 50% of max health over 0.25s.”

However, once you report to The One King, he will thank you for your service and decide to kill you. If you can kill a Goddess, you’ll eventually turn your back on him and decide to kill him. So, he’ll try to take you out first. Upon killing him, you’ll receive the Tormentor’s Pommel boss material.

Tormentor’s Pommel material can used to create the Wrathbringer melee weapon.

And while killing Nimue will keep her dead for the playthrough, it has no bearing on the Remnant 2 story, as this is played during the adventure mode. So, if you kill her, don’t feel bad.

Option Two: Spare Nimue, Kill The One True King

When The One True King sends you to kill Kimue, she will persuade you not to kill her and will tell you a nice long tale on how the king ended up in the slumber and why he awakens. News flash, it’s all her fault. She wants to fix everything, but it’s a bit hard since she’s imprisoned. She’ll then send you to go kill The One True King instead.

Head back and tell the King you didn’t kill her, and he’ll get upset and then threaten to kill you. After the fight, you’ll still get the Tormentor’s Pommel boss material. Afterward, return to Nimue; she’ll give you the Gift of the Unbound amulet.

She’ll also tell you what’s to come and mention “Myriad doors and far-off worlds… strange faces, and undiscovered horizons.”

Remnant 2 - Nimue thanks you

So there you go; what happens if you kill Nimue, and what happens if you don’t. I hope you enjoyed this guide, and be sure to check out the other Remnant 2 guides here at The Outerhaven.
