It looks as if Gunfire Games is ready to release the next Quality-of-Life update for its Soulslike title, Remnant 2. In a recent post on the Remnant 2 Twitter account, the developer released the following post.
“Get ready for our next big Quality of Life update coming this week by mixing and matching your favorite Archetypes! Are you a Roughneck? A Peacemaker? Or maybe something a little more mysterious?”
As for what will be in this Quality-of-Life update, that’s up in the air. Typically, QOL updates bring fixes and performance updates to games, but sometimes they also add new stuff. Before this, the principal designer of Remnant 2, Ben “Tragic” Cureton, teased that the traits cap is being updated to 85 trait points and could make it into this update. Currently, the Remnant 2 trait system is capped at 65 points, which has frustrated games for months. Maybe we’ll see this?

This also could be the introduction of the Loadouts system, which is something that Gunfire Games has stated they were working on. Loadouts would allow players to save their favorite weapon and gear into a loadout and pick from them instead of equipping one piece at a time. Of course, this is all speculation, but I can only hope this update will include the loadouts.
There have also been several changes to a few pieces of gear, and this QOL change may change up more items. Regardless of what it is, I’m looking for another reason to pick up and play Remnant 2 again. I’ve already clocked in 300 hours across the PC and PlayStation 5, and with more updates on the way and possibly the DLC content in a few more months, this would be the perfect reason to dive back into the game.
Lastly, and this is a big stretch and speculation on my part, but maybe this QOL update may finally add crossplay to Remnant 2. When Remnant 2 was launched, it did so without crossplay, and it’s been something that fans of the game have been looking forward to. Gunfire Games stated that it was encountering “issues with the different platforms and what they require in order to allow crossplay,” but it is being actively worked on.
Remnant 2 is available on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. If you haven’t read our review or watched it, why not? In my eyes, it’s a fantastic game and Game of the Year material.
