Well, it’s finally happened. Xbox and Bethesda have revealed that the massive Space Opera known as Starfield has gone gold. As the release date for the game gets ever closer, it was only a matter of time before this was announced. It also means there’s no fear of the game being delayed again, despite some rumors claiming it was going to happen.
The Starfield preload dates have also been revealed. Starting on August 17, 2023, Xbox and Windows Store can start preloading the game, while those looking to play it on Steam will have to wait until August 30th, 2023.
I have no idea why they have the Steam preload so far behind the Xbox and Windows Store pre-load, but that does kind of stink. Sure, I get it. If you announce it will preload on one storefront ahead of another, that’s likely to get more preorders. Still, that won’t change my plan of getting this on Steam. It’s the more stable platform, and the Windows Store still has a number of concerns that have yet to have been addressed.
Regardless, can you believe it’s been five years already? Is this game going to blow our minds? Who knows, but one thing is for sure, I can’t wait to finally get my hands on this game. And if you’re reading this, I’m sure that you feel the same way.
