To be honest, here, The Marvel Cinematic Universe hasn’t been on the biggest roll over the last phase or so. And adding to their woes is the fact that the writers/actors’ strike is delaying films and holding up productions. Thankfully for them, this November, they have one film coming out that could help continue the trend set by Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3. That film is The Marvels, and will bring together Carol Danvers, Monica Rambaeu, and Kamala Khan for the first time to face a threat that is endangering the universe, and screwing with their power sets.
The first teaser trailer hinted at what was going down, but at San Diego Comic-Con, or, at least, during the period it’s running (it’s complicated), Marvel Studios dropped the official trailer for the film, and it highlights the film’s plot. Apparently, a Kree is REALLY angry at Carol Danvers and uses a familiar-looking item to “entangle” the powers of the three Marvel ladies. Hijinks ensue, and the three need to come together to ensure this villain doesn’t destroy every place they call home.
Personally, I think the first trailer was better, but this one has some cool shots too. Check it out below:
And here’s the official synopsis for The Marvels:
“Carol Danvers AKA Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau.”
