After watching AEW World Champion MJF rant and rave about Kaylin+Kaylin pickles, I picked some up and did a review of them. Well, the fine folks over at Kaylin+Kaylin saw my review and were kind enough to send me some other flavors for me to try out. So, once I got them cold, I popped them open, gave them a try, and here are my thoughts on three additional flavors of pickles; Kosher Dill, Bread & Butter Chips, and Sweat Heat Chips.
First up is Kosher Dill.
This pickle answers the question of what the difference is between the Kosher and Classic Dill flavors. For one, the Kosher Dill contains Tumeric, and you can definitely taste it. Both flavors have that classic half-sour flavor but the Kosher adds that little extra layer that’s just noticeable enough. It all depends on if you like the extra spice to them. For me, I didn’t mind it as one of my favorite foods is curry and a staple spice in curry is Tumeric. I found these to be on par with the Classic Dills. Very delicious with a satisfying crunch!

Next, I tried the Bread & Butter Chips.
Just like the Honey Mustard counterpart I tried last time, the chips are rather large in size, have a nice crunch, and you get plenty in a jar. As for the flavor, in comparison, they are a very small step down from the Honey Mustard version. That doesn’t mean they are bad, as they are still some of the best bread & butter pickles I’ve had, but the Honey Mustard version packs a little extra flavor punch versus the standard version.
The standard is still excellent, though! If you are a fan of plain bread & butter, I still stand by the fact that these will be among the best bread & butter chips you’ve had. So why not a 10/10? Simply because I’ve already experienced the Honey Mustard, which, to me, was absolute perfection. Had I tried these first, maybe this would have gotten the full 10 points, while the Honey Mustard would break the scale and gotten an 11/10.
Plain and simple.. they’re just amazing.

I like spice… so I figured I would take their already delicious chips and see what a bit of spice can do to them.
When I took a bite, my initial reaction was “This tastes identical to the bread & butter. Where’s the spice?” Then, the spice slowly kicks in after you’re finished chewing. The spice lingers for a bit, though it is never overpowering. You’re not gagging or begging for a glass of milk. In fact, one chef I follow, Chef Jean Pierre, says that you should never taste the spice. It should always be a remnant on your tongue to give you a sense of heat. You should never overpower the taste of the food with spice.
Well, if a chef who worked in a Michelin Star restaurant with over 50 years of experience says this is how spice should be, then these pickles nail that concept perfectly. You get none of the spice up front, so you can enjoy the amazing bread & butter flavor, and then the spice settles in and gives you that perfect sensation of heat without destroying your senses. It has the perfect balance that will satisfy your taste buds!
