While the Fire Emblem franchise is one of the more popular IPs that Nintendo currently has, it wasn’t always that way. Back in the days of the Game Boy Advance, it was pretty much a Japan-Only title. So much so that when the 7th entry was brought to the West, it was only given its basic series name. Thankfully, that transition to an international audience would start the slow process of making the franchise a fan favorite. But if you never got to play the title, you’ll be able to do so soon via the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack.
As Nintendo revealed today, FE7, aka Fire Emblem The Blazing Blade, is heading to the expansion pack next week. The title focuses on Eliwood, Lyn, and Hector as they protect their homeland of Elibe from war on multiple fronts. The classic strategy RPG gameplay is here for all to enjoy, and the game still holds up to this day. Plus, the impact of characters like Lyn and Hector is felt to this day, including both of them being in Fire Emblem Engage.
Lyn, Eliwood, and Hector must amass an army strong enough to fight back the forces that would destroy their homeland in the Game Boy Advance version of Fire Emblem, coming to #NintendoSwitch for #NintendoSwitchOnline + Expansion Pack members on 6/23! pic.twitter.com/CGWjXsuH9C
