Poncle’s hugely popular swarm survival game, Vampire Survivors, is received an animated television series. Story Kitchen is partnering with Luva Galante, founder of Poncle, for the adaptation. Story Kitchen has also made headlines by announcing a live-action adaptation of the game SIFU.
“There’s no place to hide -all you can do is try to survive a cursed night and get as much gold as possible for the next survivor- before Death inevitably puts an end to your struggles. Mow down thousands of night creatures and survive until dawn! This is a gothic horror action game, where your choices can allow you to quickly snowball against the hundreds of monsters thrown at you.”
As of now, the series is searching for a writer as well as a network to pick it up.
Vampire Survivors is a simple concept where you pick a character and kill waves of increasingly difficult enemies in an attempt to survive for 30 minutes. You level up and pick up different weapons and augments along the way to increase your chances of survival. You can even combine certain weapons and with certain augments to evolve those weapons, allowing you to become a bullet hell machine. There are multiple maps, challenge maps, and unlocks to keep you entertained for hours. The game has also released two expansion packs so far with no sign that the content updates are stopping any time soon.
“The most important thing in Vampire Survivors is the story, so it’s a dream come true to see what started as a little indie game I made on my weekends come to life as an animated TV show!,” says poncle founder Galante. “It’s also great to be partnering up with such experienced and talented people to make the show. I do wonder if they’ve realized that there isn’t a single vampire in Vampire Survivors, though.”
The game is available on PC via Steam, Android, iOS, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Cloud Gaming, and Mac and retails for $4.99.
