If you’ve been enjoying the “Creating Games” channel by Masahiro Sakurai as much as we have, you’ll know how much knowledge the gaming legend has imparted to those who have watched. He’s talked about numerous elements of game design, workplace structure, and behind-the-scenes facts that helped shape many of the games you know and love from Nintendo and beyond. But today, the legend hit a milestone in 100 videos on his channel! So to celebrate, he went back to the character he created in Kirby and talked about the characters’ first game in great detail.
Sakurai did this before, but in a special “Grab Bag” presentation, he showed off special slides and art from the 25th-anniversary concert that was only shown in Japan. As such, you’ll see rare looks at the art from the development kit Masahiro Sakurai used to make the game! As well as getting insights into why certain characters and enemies look and move the way they do. It’s a long video, so be prepared for a long haul, but it’s Daddy Sakurai, so it’ll be worth it!
