Fans have been waiting for a long time for The Legend of Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom to come out. Thankfully, we’re only two months away from its release on Nintendo Switch. However, one of the “sticking points” of the game currently is the price tag. The game is at $70, ten bucks more than any other standard Switch game on the market. Nintendo has detailed the reasoning behind this, but now, we have an even deeper look at things.
Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser talked with the Associated Press and said the following about the price tag:
“We look at what the game has to offer. I think fans will find this is an incredibly full, deeply immersive experience. The price point reflects the type of experience that fans can expect when it comes to playing this particular game. This isn´t a price point that we´ll necessarily have on all our titles. It´s actually a fairly common pricing model either here or in Europe or other parts of the world, where the pricing may vary depending on the game itself.”
So in Nintendo’s eyes, the grandness of the game warrants the price bump. We’ll see how things play out when the game releases on May 12th.
