During today’s Capcom Spotlight livestream, the company announced that Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, which is the base game of Monster Hunter Rise and its expansion, will be released for the PlayStation, Xbox, and Windows as of April 28, 2023.
Now that Monster Hunter Rise will be available on the PS5, the game will take advantage of the DualSense controllers, and will make use of the adaptive triggers. Both the Xbox Series X|S, and PS5 versions will feature 3D Audio and 4K resolutions @ 60 frames per second. We can’t forget that Capcom has also released a bunch of yummy content with Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak, which only makes this news even better.
Capcom first announced that Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak would be released for these platforms back in December 2022. The Outerhaven reviewed Monster Hunter Rise for the Nintendo Switch in March 2021, stating that it “expertly melded combination of the best elements of the series.”
Released this past June 2022 for the Nintendo Switch and Steam, Sunbreak added new monsters, including some old favorites, a new location, and several fixes to the game. It also went on to sell over 4 million copies worldwide by August 2022.
If lucking to play Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, Capcom is currently holding a massive sale, where Monster Hunter Rise is on sale for $20 for the PS4/PS5 and $25 for Monster Hunter Rise Deluxe Edition. Monster Hunter Rise and Sunbreak Deluxe Editions are being sold on Steam as a bundle for $50 or Monster Hunter Rise standard on Steam for just $20. Oddly enough, Monster Hunter Rise isn’t on sale on either the Windows or Xbox Store.
