Fresh off of Capcom Cup IX, the biggest fighting game tournament in North America, EVO, has revealed its lineup for EVO 2023.
Here’s the lineup for EVO 2023:
- Street Fighter 6 (replacing Street Fighter 5)
- Guilty Gear -Strive-
- Dragon Ball FighterZ
- Tekken 7
- King of FIghter XV
- Melty Blood: Tyle Lumina
- Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate
- Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3
Every game in this lineup will also have a $25,000 prize pool minimum.
As you may have noticed that a fan favorite, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, has returned, while DNF Duel, Granblue Fantasy Versus, Skullgirls, and Multiversus have been sidelined. Capcom having two of its flagship fighters being played is like going back in time. One thing is for sure, that UMVC3 tournament will be bonkers; I’ll be staying up to watch that.
What’s also interesting is Tekken 7 is still going strong and has stood the test of time. Think about this for a moment; Tekken 7 has been in the same lineup, while we’ve seen three different Street Fighters within the same time.
EVO 2023 will take place at Las Vegas’s Mandalay Bay Hotel, from August 4 -6, 2023. Registration for Evo 2022 is now live, so head on over to Evo.gg and sign-up!
