Many have been eagerly awaiting the news about how the Nintendo Switch has been selling. Each quarter has elevated the console to new heights and towards bigger and bigger sales records. With Q3 2022, they had the chance to further up their stake by dealing with two holiday seasons and potentially getting a massive boost in sales overall. But the question was, would they be able to do that? Are you seriously doubting Nintendo? For shame! The answer is “yes,” they were able to do well and get a big record as a result!
As noted by the official financial briefing for Q3 2022, the Nintendo Switch (in all iterations combined) has sold 122.5 million units. That means the system is now No.3 all-time in hardware sales. It passed the Game Boy and the PS4 when it reached that milestone. The only things left for it to pass are the DS and the PS2, and that’s another 30+ million away, so we’ll see if it reaches that goal.
No matter what, this is a big win for the Big N, and hopefully, 2023 will continue its sales pace. With a Direct coming out tomorrow, they could be flying off the shelves again soon.
