Revealed last year at Gamescom, sinister seafaring simulator Dredge has snagged a release date. The indie horror game will arrive on March 30th, as revealed today by publisher Team17. Developed by Black Salt Games, the strange fishing RPG sees players trawl the seas, catching fish and completing quests. But not all is as it seems. The new release date trailer hints at the creepy undercurrent of the game, as the main character brings in catches that get continuously, well, fishy.
Though the trailer eschews gameplay for story, it does allude to the mechanics of catching and selling fish to upgrade the boat. When released, Dredge will feature over 125 fish for players to haul aboard. Featuring a plot around dredging up the past, the game will see players start out from an archipelago and navigate various islands and the waters around them in their pursuit of aquatic quarry.
Dredge will arrive from the deep for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. A demo for the game will arrive on Nintendo Switch in the next few weeks, ahead of the March 30th release date.
