While many fans of Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order are eagerly waiting on the follow-up, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, they’ll have to wait a bit longer as the title has been delayed by six weeks. While the title was initially scheduled to be released on March 17, 2023, the release date has been moved to April 28, 2023.
According to Respawn Entertainment, the delay provides more development time to address “dug fixes to enhance performance, stability, polish, and mostly the player experience.” A smart move on Respawn’s part, as the first title, while it was amazing, it also was affected by several bugs. Including a game-breaking bug that stopped players from continuing throughout the game, a bug that I also was affected by.
There was a massive thread on EA’s Star Wars forum that contained frustrated players trying to get help to get past the bugs that affected the game. I resorted to highlighting the game-breaking bug, hoping to get some help, which received the attention of another gaming outlet, Kotaku.
If I were Respawn Entertainment, I wouldn’t want a repeat of the 2019 Star Wars title, and if it takes another six weeks or longer to correct the issue, then that’s what it takes.
