Capcom has released new Street Fighter 6 gameplay footage, this time between the two Street Fighter familiars, Dhalism and Deejay. Geez, Capcom, it hasn’t even been 24 hours after your last gameplay footage between Marsia and Manon… Keep it up.
This match is an excellent indication of how both of these characters play, but fans of the series will likely notice that both are similar to their past incarnations. Dhalism is still a mid-screen zoner with his limbs and his various fire-based attacks, while Deejay is also a zoner in his own right. During this match, I did notice that Deejay now has a projectile feint that can be used to fool opponents who get too projectile-happy.
I’m sure that fans of Deejay will be happy that the character is finally returning after being absent in Street Fighter 3 and Street Fighter 5.
While the music isn’t the same, the stage shown is an updated version of Deejay’s stage. While the bar doesn’t have Deejay’s name on it, it does have the word “Maximum” on it, which was the wording that ran down the side of Deejay’s pants in his Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers debut. It also features the maracas that Deejay would use in his winning pose.
Check out the gameplay footage below.
Street Fighter 6 releases on June 6, 2023, and will be available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC (Steam). The Capcom fighter will incorporate cross-play, so all platforms can play against each other, unlike the previous release of Street Fighter 5, which was a PlayStation and PC-only affair.
