Once in a while, you need to indulge yourself in a trash show like Eromanga-sensei, or Shinmai Maou no Testament. This season, there was one that was recommended to me so I figured I would check it out. Onii-chan wa Oshimai (Onimai: I’m Now Your Sister) is just pure trash and either it can be good or really bad as per the examples I provided above. Which category does this show fall into?
Let’s Go!
First Episode Synopsis
Mahiro wakes up and suddenly he’s in a girl’s body. At first, he’s shocked but since he’s just a lonely gamer NEET, he doesn’t really seem too shocked. It all makes sense when his sister, Mihari storms into his room and tells him that she drugged him and turned him into a girl… for science… or for better terms… for the Mahiro Rehabilitation Program!
From here on out, Mahiro needs to learn how to be a girl. From learning how to pee to dealing with chaffed nipples from running, Mahiro seems to have it tough; however, there are some benefits… such as when he’s alone in the bath and wishes to take a peek at all of his new and exciting things on his body.
Just one day in, he’s already had enough but… will his sister just let him give up being a girl so easily?
Worth Watching?
YES – I have twisted, perverted humor and this show is full of it from top to bottom. While this show is complete and utter trash, it’s mindless entertainment that is actually entertaining. Of course, if you’re not into that kind of humor, you’ll probably skip it but there are plenty of others that are going to latch on and love this show… I am one of those people.
My only worry is that while the first episode was hilarious, there is only so much of this humor that you can withstand before it gets old. The show is only 12 episodes long so it’s not like it’s going to overstay its welcome but I’m left wondering how the show can be kept fresh for the duration.
If the humor remains at the same level while switching things up a bit, I’m sure this show will find a surprisingly higher score than some people will give it just by reading the synopsis. This won’t win any awards next year but it will probably provide a few laughs and that’s good enough for me!
