Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy will be swinging their way through their next Spider-Caper ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ film. Sadly, we’ll have to wait until June 2nd, 2022, to watch it in all its glory. We won’t have to wait to see the new poster that was revealed today.
In it, we can see dozens of iconic Spider-Man-related characters, not including Miles and Stacey. I’m sure faithful Spider-Man fans can make out several of these, including Armored Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Man (Peter B. Parker), Ben Riley (read his new arc), Spider-Woman (Julia Carpenter), Japanese Spider-Man, and a new Black Female Spider-Man, who I don’t believe a name for her has been revealed yet.

Update: A Chinese poster for the movie was recently released, and it shows off even more Spider-persons.
In Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse, at least from what we can tell from the commercials, both Miles and Gwen end up traveling through the Spider-Verse (yep, more Multiverse stuff), and end up going against other Spider-Persons as they attempt to figure out how to stop a new threat.
As for who that threat is, it was revealed that the character, Spot, will be the movie’s villain. Spot, for those who have read the Spider-Man comics, has the ability to open portals between dimensions. I’d imagine a character like that would definitely cause issues for our Spider-friends. Interestingly, an obscure character such as Spot would be picked, seeing how it’s been a while since he’s appeared in any of the Spider-Man comics. Still, with his power set, I suppose that makes sense. However, it seems it’s more than the power, as apparently, he’ll be a “mirror” of Miles Morales.
Can the Phil Lord and Christopher Miller duo possibly top their first Spider-Man movie, ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ (read our review)? It will be a significant accomplishment if they can. The first movie was just about perfect, and is easily the best Spider-Man movie I’ve seen. As a fan of all things Spider-Man and someone who enjoyed the first movie, I can’t wait to see this one.
Spider-Man Across the Spider-Verse appears in theaters on June 2nd, 2023.
