Not too long ago, we reported that Hellena Taylor, the voice behind the character Bayonetta, did a three-part video post outlining how PlatinumGames had done wrong by her through the pay for the upcoming third title. She wanted to come back, yet had to audition for the role. Once she did, her “final offer” for doing the entire game was that of just $4000. A pittance compared to what Platinum has made during the course of the franchise’s life. Naturally, many came forward to support Taylor and call out Platinum.
But now, there’s a twist in the tale. According to sources, Platinum did offer Taylor a big pay raise for the third title. Paying her upwards of $20,000 for the whole game. The dealbreaker, per the reports, was that Taylor wanted a six-figure paycheck and residuals for the game. the company refused, and here we are.

As the reports states, Taylor denied this “reveal” and claims that PlatinumGames is trying to do nothing more than save their company and their game. So who do you believe here? In this case, patience is a virtue. Both sides have made claims, and both have reasonable doubt about who betrayed who. So let’s see what happens next, and go from there.
