Announced today on Day 1 of Hasbro Pulse Con 2022, Magic: The Gathering expands its crossover collection with one of the biggest brands on the planet: Transformers.
Not much is known about the set other than it is going to be found in set and collector boosters for the upcoming expansion: The Brother’s War. This means that these Transformers cards are going to be a bonus extra in the set alongside all the other cards found in the expansion.
These special double-sided Transformers cards will come in 2 versions: Normal, using art based around the Generation One cartoon, and “Shattered Glass“, a series based on the comic book series of the same name. At Hasbro Pulse Con Day 1, 6 cards were revealed based around 4 of the classic characters and 2 new creations for this upcoming release.
The first two cards, featuring popular characters Optimus Prime and Starscream were revealed, with Optimus having Trample as an effect while Starscream has flying (obviously).
Next up are Soundwave and one of the new characters: Slicer. Bonus for Soundwave getting Ravage as a token he can create.
Lastly, we have Goldbug, the second form of Bumblebee, and the second new character: Flamewar.
Magic: The Gathering revealed on Twitter that there are 9 more cards to be revealed during their panel at Hasbro Pulse Con, so who knows who is going to be revealed? Stay tuned to The Outerhaven as we update this post with more information as it becomes available. Magic: The Gathering expansion “The Brothers War” will be available Globally on November 18 2022.
