Splatoon 3 Sells 3.45 Million Units In 3 Days In Japan!

By Todd BlackSeptember 12, 2022
Splatoon 3, Splatoon 3 Direct

How do you measure the success of a video game? Usually, it’d be about the critics scores, fan praise (or lack thereof), and of course, game sales. So when you have all three in one AND the numbers are truly huge beyond compare in terms of sales? Then yeah, you did a great job. So let us tell you right now, Splatoon 3 came out just a few days back, we don’t have the global numbers total so far, and yet, we know it did absolutely bonkers in Japan.

No, really, news has broken from Nintendo themselves (and on Twitter) that JUST in Japan, the game has sold 3.45 million units in just 3 days! Think about that, that means that more than likely, the game has sold well over 5 million when you combine the UK and US numbers. This also sets the record in Japan for best-launching Switch title ever. So yeah, the game is doing really well there, and likely everywhere. We’ll be dropping our review of Splatoon 3 later this week more than likely, so stay tuned!

Splatoon 3 sold 3.45 million units in 3 days in Japan.

This is the biggest launch for any Switch game.

This was so impressive that Nintendo actually made the announcement in a press release.
