We’ll have to wait a bit longer for the first season of MultiVersus to kick off, as it has now been delayed. Previously, WB Games has revealed that MultiVersus season one would kick off on August 9th, which happens to be next week. However, the official MultiVersus Twitter account has announced that the start of the season has been delayed.
We want to let everyone know that we are delaying the start of Season 1 and the release of Morty to a later date,” the account tweeted. “We know this might be disappointing for some and want to assure our community that we are dedicated to delivering new and exciting content that delights players.
“We’ll let you know the timing as soon as we can. We appreciate your patience and enthusiasm and look forward to unveiling season 1 very soon!”
No reason for the delay has been given, nor has there been any ETA on when the start of the season will kick off. I know it’s a bit of a bummer, as the season would also introduce the release of Morty, a character that most are looking forward to checking out.

While MultiVersus’s first season is now delayed, the open beta has been solid for the most part. I can’t stop playing it, and while there are issues with some character balancing (NERF FINNN!) and some concerns regarding the hitboxes, the game is fun. This is coming from someone who hasn’t been a fan of platform fighters and refused to play Super Smash Bros. I’ve converted, all thanks to this game.
Maybe I’ll see you all online, either on my team or me beating the heck out of you (or vice versa).
