As of late, things have been pretty quiet where God of War Ragnarok is concerned. Unless you’ve been indulging in social media insider rumors, there hasn’t been much to go on. We had a gameplay trailer back in September last year, and that has been about it. Even I was thinking that it was going to see a delay and slide into 2023. However, I have never been happier to admit that I was wrong as Sony Santa Monica Studio has finally revealed a release date.
As revealed on Playstation’s blog, you can expect God of War Ragnarok to release on November 9th, 2022. Check out the quick CGI trailer below.
As far as the trailer goes, there isn’t much to talk about. It showcases Kratos and Atreus in the thick of battle and ends with a large wolf looming above them just before it cuts to Ragnarok’s release date. With the exception of Fenrir, it doesn’t give us much to go on other than the fact that we’ll be taking on hordes of monsters once more. That being said, hard to be too upset with it since it gives us what we wanted.
It has also been revealed in a separate blog that starting on July 15th at 10am EST, you can also pre-order one of Ragnarok’s two Collector’s Editions. The first is simply called the Collector’s Edition and comes with some fun swag as well a 16′ replica of Thor’s Mjolnir. The Jötnar Edition comes with everything the Collector’s Edition does and some extra goodies. No matter which version you decide to go with, God of War fans will be eating good.
