Japanese singer-songwriter, Ayaka, is set to release her next single “Not Ready” on May 15.
“Not Ready” discusses the internal struggle of a life of hustling on a 9-5 job. Ayaka describes conversations with friends, and coworkers, who she feels doesn’t understand what she is going through. She references feeling burnt out with the redundant days that pass her by. “Not Ready” brings an honest perspective to her own experiences while working just to be able to live. Thus, it feels like living to work. The core of the song also demonstrates that people in her life simply gave up on their childhood dreams, instead settling for something safe that pays the bills, and not feeling ready to transition.
“We all are scared to break new ground so we always persuade ourselves, saying “Just not ready yet…” says Ayaka on her single.
