In this day and age, many of the big triple-A titles of the gaming world are measured solely by how well they do upon launch and then when they reach certain milestones. For Nintendo Switch Sports, it was not meant to be the biggest launch of April for the Switch, but with Advance Wars getting delayed indefinitely, it was the system’s sole 1st party launch of the month. As such, many were curious how it would do “in the clutch” of launch. Turns out…it may do really well. If the UK numbers are to be believed.
By that, we mean that insider Christoper Dring had some very interesting comments to make about Nintendo Switch Sports:
Nintendo Switch Sports' opening week is almost 8 times bigger than Just Dance 2022, 6 times bigger than Ring Fit Adventure, and more than twice as big as Mario Party Superstars. All of those games had relatively soft opening weeks and went on to deliver big numbers

So that looks promising indeed. And while we haven’t heard anything from the US or Japan as of yet, it’s important to note that with well over 100 million console units sold, there are plenty of casual gamers out there who might get this title to “rekindle” their Wii Sports love.
