The development studio of Vicarious Visions has announced that they have officially merged with Blizzard Entertainment.
You may know Vicarious Visions from their prior works of Activision’s Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2 Remaster, which was a fantastic title. However, after this, the studio was moved to a supporting role for Blizzard Entertainment in April 2021. There, the studio found itself working alongside Blizzard Entertainment on Diablo 2: Resurrected.
We've officially merged with Blizzard Entertainment. Our development team will remain in Albany, NY and fully dedicated to Blizzard games. We invite you to follow us @Blizzard_Ent

What was once known as Vicarious Visions is now known as Blizzard Albany, and if you ask me, is a terrible way to go for a development team that was once known for its amazing remasters. With Blizzard Entertainment losing key personnel either due to them quitting or firings and with the status of Blizzard’s Diablo 4 currently unknown. It’s more than likely that Blizzard Albany will start working on the presently delayed Diablo 4.
Microsoft is currently acquiring Activision Blizzard in a deal nearly worth 69 billion dollars. Assuming this deal closes, as the FCC has decided to get involved, this would be a massive acquisition for the Microsoft/Xbox brand.
