Kirby and the Forgotten Land only came out a few days ago, but it’s already making waves in certain regions. Not the least of which is the UK, because according to one insider, the new Switch title is not only the No.1 game in the UK right now, but it’s had its biggest opening ever for the franchise. In fact, the insider says its its biggest launch “by a big margin”.
As we discussed in the latest episode of the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast, the Kirby games are numerous, but they aren’t exactly known for their “ground-breaking sales” with a few exceptions. One of them being the original title via Kirby’s Dream Land, and then the first Kirby game on Switch via Star Allies. The form had over 5 million in sales, and the latter had over 3 million. So it could be that Kirby and the Forgotten Land helps break the record for the all-time sales in the saga, we’ll just have to wait and see on that front.
Kirby and The Forgotten Land is No.1 in the UK boxed retail charts this week. It comfortably beat Tiny Tina (which is at No.2). It is the biggest ever Kirby launch by a big margin, and is already the fifth biggest Kirby game ever in the UK after just 1 week
