Naturally, this angered the speaker and organizer at the medical and scientific event. The meeting, asides from interested guests, had actual politicians from Italy’s Five Star Movement Party and a Noble Prize winner for physics in attendance. The event was held both physically and on Zoom at the Palazzo Giustiniani which was titled “For a transparent PA, open data for the political decision-maker”.
“There’s a person that has snuck in—I apologize. If the other director please can help me kick out this person.” said the organizer as it happened. After the event, Senator Maria Laura Mantovani told local Italian news outlets that she will report this to the police to investigate. Though good luck trying to trace back on the Zoom Call.
This is not surprising as crashing Zoom meetings or “Zoom Bombing” has been a frequent occurrence since the pandemic has started. People are staying remote and events are held digitally in place of in-person events. Be it classrooms or gaming events. Culprits and trolls usually find public listings like this one and attempt to derail the meeting session with trolling pornography or a combo of both.
