We’re going to get a look at the new Sonic the Hedgehog game at The Game Awards Show 2021.
Recently, some interesting exchanges between the Sonic The Hedgehog and Geoff Keighley’s Twitter accounts, which took place a few days ago.
Hey @geoffkeighley do you have any extra invites to TGA?

Now it’s been confirmed that Jim Carrey and Ben Schwartz will be in attendance, while the new Sonic game will be shown. We all know Jim Carrey as the voice of Dr. Robotnik from the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, among other roles. While Ben Schwartz is the voice from the original and upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie sequels. Having these actors on hand and likely introducing the new Sonic title should be amusing.
Tomorrow night — Sonic's 30th anniversary gets even bigger. See the next game and….we're excited to welcome @jimcarrey and @rejectedjokes to #TheGameAwards to world premiere #SonicMovie2! pic.twitter.com/78WDL2JLk3

But what is this new Sonic game? While we don’t have an official name, Sega teased a new game during the Sonic Central Showcase back in May 2021. Initially, many had thought the game was going to be called Sonic Rangers, but that turned out to be incorrect. Instead, it seems the name is Sonic Frontiers. While Sega isn’t talking, there are a few hints that Sonic Frontiers just may be the actual name.

Recently, the domain “frontiers.sonicthehedgehog.com” was discovered. However, it doesn’t appear that the website is live. Attempting to access the domain will greet you with a “403 Forbidden error”. In all likelihood, the website for this domain will go live during The Game Awards Show 2021, which takes place on December 9, 2021, at 4:30 pm PST / 7:30 pm EST.
My take — I’m praying that whatever this game is going to be, that it’s good. Sonic games have this vicious cycle of being good, to decent, complete crap. Sadly, the takes ages for a good game to surface again. Look how long it took for Sega to get from Sonic Generations to Sonic Mania.
Please be a good game, please be a good game!
