According to a report from the Embracer Group finical report, the Saints Row reboot scheduled for February 2022 has been delayed to August 2022. The Embracer Group is the parent company of Koch Media.
There hasn’t been any specific reason for the delay, other than the official Saints Row Twitter account post. Per Volition chief officer Jim Boon, “the Volition team needs more time to do our vision justice. We’re doing some fine-tuning, and there won’t be much change in the game outside of overall quality and polish.” I’d post the tweet, but for some reason, it was removed and isn’t showing anymore. You’ll just have to take my word for it — or read the entire statement here.
Gamers looking forward to the Saints Row reboot won’t have to wait long to see more of the game, as a new trailer will be released in the upcoming weeks. While no date was given, chances are we’ll see this trailer during the 2021 The Game Awards Show on December 9. 2021.
I suppose we should be happy about this delay, as February 2022 was already packed with several blockbuster titles. That month will see the release of Horizon Forbidden West, Dying Light 2, Sifu, Elden Ring, to name a few games.
