The Nintendo Switch is a system that has impressed people since launch, and for good reasons. But, as in all things, there is a catch. In this case, that would be with the dedicated controllers known as the Joy-Cons. They are what people use to play the games and they are very versatile in ways people appreciate. But, they also have Joy-Con drift at times, and that sucks.
These issues have plagued Joy-Cons since the first iteration, and Nintendo has even been sued over it! So, what are they doing about it? Well…they’re still trying to improve them and make them better, not unlike the Switch itself. This comes from Doug Bowser during an interview.
“As we’ve gone through the first five and a half years of the Nintendo Switch, we’ve observed gameplay, we’ve observed as people have returned units how they’ve worn, and we’ve been making continuous improvements overall to the Joy-Con, including the analog stick,” said Nintendo to The Verge. “This latest version, Nintendo Switch OLED, has the same updated analog stick that’s now available in the original Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite.”
While that is somewhat comforting, gamers won’t be satisfied until they no longer have to worry about it. When that will be? No one knows.
