Steel Assault, a homage to the age of 16-bit action-platformers, now has a release date for the PC and Switch. Ever since the past E3 2021 event, Steel Assault has gained lots of attention, thanks to the once playable demo. Now the title will head to the PC and Switch on September 28th, 2021.
You can add Steel Assault to your wishlist on the Steam page.
To celebrate the news, a new trailer for the game has been released. Check it out below.
Steel Assault will have players assuming the role of Taro Takahashi as he punches, shoots, and swings his way across several levels of fast-paced 2D platforming. For those who grew up in the 16-bit era (like myself), then Steel Assault should make you feel like a kid again. I’m glad that the game finally has a release date, so now our very own Matthew Paul can show me just how good he is at the game.
Hopefully, the game is as rough or brutal as the Steam demo that was playable a few months ago. I enjoyed what I played, but I felt that the game needed some more work. Since the demo, Zenovia Interactive has been quiet about the title. I can’t wait how this stacks up against some of the greatest action-platformers of all time. We’re talking Gunstar Heroes, Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master, Super Castlevania IV, to name a few.
Steel Assault releases on September 28th, 2021, for the PC (Steam) and Switch. There’s currently no word if we’ll see a release for the PlayStation or Xbox as of yet.
