We’re already in September; it’s weird how time flies by. Speaking of September, the upcoming Tokyo Game Show 2021 event has been announced, which will take place from September 30th – October 3rd, 2021. Here I was worried that the event might not even happen.
Unlike some other events that still think trying to have an onsite event is a good idea. The 2021 Tokyo Game Show will take place entirely online. I’m just hoping this turns up better than E3 2021 did — that event was a cluster.
So far, there’s a list of planned events, including a King of Fighters 15 Special Program, an Xbox Showcase which will have some exclusive news and content, a Square Enix Presents event, and Arc System Works will also have an event.
For a bigger idea of who’ll be in attendance, check out this shortlist.
- Konami
- Xbox
- Ubisoft
- Koei Tecmo
- Square Enix
- Arc System Works
- S-Game
- Capcom
- Spike Chunsoft
- GameraGame
Sadly, there’s no sign of Nintendo or PlayStation at the Tokyo Game Show 2021 event. For a full list of who will be at the event and showing off what, check out this link.
This is the last major gaming event of the year, so expect to see and hear either new games announced or updates to existing games. I’m hoping we get more Elden Ring and possibly some more Forza Horizon 5 news myself. We’ll likely get some new gameplay footage from Square Enix’s Guardian of the Galaxy title as well. I also expect to hear some new Xbox Game Pass news that’s likely going to cause a meltdown in some gamers.
It’s also worth pointing out that Koei Tecmo will be at the event to announce a new, unknown title. Could this finally be Ninja Gaiden 4? The company did say they’d wait to see how the Ninja Gaiden Master Collection sales were and would judge from there. Here’s to hoping that’s the title that gets announced.
