Back in June 2021, Reed Pop had announced that PAX West 2021 would not only be an on-site event, but they weren’t going to require anyone who attended to have their COVID-19 vaccinations. Cue that the “what the hell are they thinking” boos because that’s exactly what happened. I’m pretty sure anyone who’s anyone objected to this being a thing. Now, Reed Pop has done a 180 and now states that anyone heading to PAX West 2021 will now require their vaccination or proof that you aren’t infected with COVID-19.
Here’s what Reed Pop has to say on reversing its original decision:
Prior to entry, we will now require proof of a completed COVID-19 vaccination series or a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test, each to be verified with a valid, government-issued ID. If you have purchased badges and have questions or concerns about this requirement, please reach out to PAX Questions at PAX_Questions@PAXsite.com
We're pleased to announce that, in line with the recommendations of state and local public health authorities, we will be implementing a vaccination or negative COVID-19 test requirement for everyone at #PAXWest. Read the full update at: https://t.co/1ZtYPOCQeI pic.twitter.com/hZJkFeRngR

Yes, that was the right call, and I’m sticking to it. You can say what you want about the COVID-19 vaccinations, and you can object all you want. But if you want me to attend any on-site events and don’t require people to have vaccinations, I am not going. Thank you, Reed Pop, for finally realizing that your original requirements could put people in danger.
If you’re someone who was originally heading to PAX West 2021 but didn’t get vaccinated and don’t have any plans on doing so, you’ll need to contact Reed Pop for a refund. Now, it’s not my place to tell people to get the vaccine, as everyone has their own opinion. However, I do implore you that if you don’t want to get vaccinated, then at least think about the other people when you’re going to events such as PAX West.
