Get that popcorn ready because Jordan Peele is coming back with another terrifying tale to haunt and delight. And Peele even revealed the title and the poster for the film, very appropriately titled Nope.
Award for best horror movie title? This one is certainly in the running. Jokes abound about the title being what any sane character’s reaction would be to the events of any horror movie. Or alternatively, what we’re all going to scream at the screen as we watch this film.
We know very little about the movie, other than it’ll star Daniel Kaluuya, whom he worked with previously in Get Out, Keke Palmer, and Steven Yeun of The Walking Dead fame. The poster shows an ominous cloud with a sort of streamer with flags flowing out from the bottom, perhaps to show that something is coming? The bright town below is secluded from the rest of the world by mountains, so this might be a Something Wicked This Way Comes situation where a circus/carnival comes to town and horror ensues. Either way, it looks creepy as Hell, and hopefully the film will live up to the already very high hype.
Nope is set to premiere in theaters on July 22, 2022.
